Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking a Senior Interior Components Engineer to lead development of interior trim and systems from concept to production launch. You will work with vehicle engineering, design, marketing, and suppliers in a fast-paced environment emphasizing craftsmanship, quality, and on-time program execution.

The role requires 4+ years in interior components and systems development, CAD (CATIA V5/V6), and successful product launches.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of demonstrated experience as a detail oriented Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g., hard trim, soft trim, IP, door trims, consoles, headliners, etc.)
• Knowledge and understanding of automotive interior components and systems, industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilities
• Experience creating, improving, or establishing technical product specifications and timelines to support accelerated development toward SOP
• Proficiency in CAD for 2D/3D concept drawings, interior components and systems, packaging layouts, and DFM studies (CATIA V5/V6 preferred)
• Vehicle and product launch experience

• Employ and develop effective tools and innovative approaches to support product development

Salary: AZ ($100,000-110,000) OR MI ($90,000-100,000)

In this Senior Interior Components Engineer role you will be responsible for developing interior trim and systems from concept through production launch. You significantly contribute to the packaging, design, engineering release, supplier coordination, and launch of components such as instrument panels, door trims, consoles, headliners, and other interior systems. You will work closely with vehicle engineering, design, marketing, and suppliers in a fast‑paced environment, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, functional performance, quality, and on‑time vehicle program execution.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a fast paced startup environment
• Experience completing one full program cycle from concept to production launch in automotive interior components and systems
• Profound knowledge of vehicle interior systems with a demonstrable track record of technical excellence and program execution
• Strong understanding of plastic part design, structural performance, manufacturing technologies, craftsmanship, ergonomics, safety, and homologation requirements
• Competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T
• A strong desire to create exceptional products as part of a highly capable team
• A practical, hands on approach that complements theoretical knowledge
• Exceptional technical abilities paired with excellent communication skills

Salary Range

• $100,000 - 110,000
• The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, training, and experience
