Job summary

Slate is seeking a Sr Design & Release Engineer (DRE) – Interior Cockpit to lead the design, development, and integration of phone holder, iPad holding mechanisms, and cockpit trim systems in Slate vehicles. You will drive kinematics, usability, and system integration across cockpit components, ensuring safety and performance targets are met.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage design reviews, and support prototype builds, DV/PV, and launch readiness in a fast-paced startup

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in automotive mechanism system engineering.
• Experience with APQP/PPAP processes and product validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, validation, and launch of phone/iPad holder/interior trim systems.
• Coordinate with HVAC, body structures, soft trim, electrical, restraints teams.
• Ensure PPAP documentation and regulatory objectives are met.
