SENIOR INTERIOR ARCHITECT

Boutique NYC Architectural and Interior Design Firm specializing in corporate/workplace interiors seeking senior level architect/designer to join our team.

Candidates should have a professional degree in architecture from an accredited program and 10 years experience in commercial design, exhibit strong design and organizational skills, and be able to contribute to a fast-paced, creative office.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Project Lead/Project Manager for all phases (schematic design through construction administration) of small, medium, and large-scale corporate projects;
2. Coordinating with clients, consultants, and design principals;
3. Design and presentation drawings;
4. Construction detailing and drawings;
5. Construction observation and administration;
6. Manage and oversee junior architects and designers.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Space Planning/Test Fitting;
2. Knowledge of workplace strategies;
3. Knowledge of IBC Building Codes | ADA;
4. Prepare and review construction documents;
5. Coordination of permit process;
6. Visit job sites for projects for design and construction administration, including meeting with contractors, clients, consultants, etc.;
7. File and track all incoming documentation from other consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Architecture;
2. 10+ years of experience in commercial architecture;
3. Demonstrated knowledge of the design process, products, materials, and construction details;
4. Knowledge of project constructability, project costs, and building code requirements;
5. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, and SketchUp and/or Revit;
6. Located in New York City, and ability to travel outside of the New York area on a regular basis.
