Job summary

The US Army Corps of Engineers in Kansas City seeks an experienced Area engineer to develop long- and short-range plans, set work schedules, assign priorities, and direct staff on civil works and military facilities projects.

You will coordinate with using agencies, contractors, and higher echelons to ensure timely project completion, review shop drawings, and provide contracting authority to negotiate contracts and changes while upholding safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture with ABET accreditation criteria or equivalent.
• Professional registration/licensure (PE or Architect) required as selective placement factor.
• Experience coordinating multisector construction, contracts, and staff in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Develop long- and short-range plans and set work schedules.
• Direct staff and supervise supervisory actions including training and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with using agencies, contractors, and higher echelons to ensure timely project completion.
• Review shop drawings and provide contracting authority to negotiate contracts and changes.
