Job summary

Google in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Staff Interaction Designer for the Search App. You’ll start from a user-centered, app-first mindset to craft intuitive, engaging journeys across our product surface, balancing craft, execution, longevity, and scale.

You’ll lead design across cross-functional teams, work with AI-enabled tools, and influence partners to build the world’s most capable AI-powered search experience for billions of users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience in product design or UX.
• Experience leveraging generative AI tools and workflows for prototyping and interface exploration.
• Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Responsibilities

• Lead design across foundational surfaces and complex systems.
• Balance craft with execution, longevity, and scale of designs.
• Apply AI fluency to prototype with AI tools and assess outputs for accuracy.
• Collaborate with Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists, and Product Managers.
• Guide cross-functional teams to create engaging AI-powered experiences.
