Job summary

Allies4Outcomes (A4O) is redefining social work in North Carolina, recruiting experienced professionals to support county agencies through the ISSWT. You will deliver high-quality, results-driven services across Adult & Aging programs and collaborate with the A4O Consultant Team to improve outcomes for individuals and communities throughout NC.

Minimum 5 years of experience as Social Worker III or supervisory role within NC DSS, plus strong knowledge of NC policy and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as Social Worker III or in a supervisory role within NC DSS.
• Strong knowledge of NC policy, practice standards, and quality improvement.
• Ability to work independently while leveraging technology effectively.
• Demonstrated adaptability, emotional intelligence, and change management skills.
• Willingness to travel across North Carolina and maintain a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Adult Protective Services (APS): Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
• Assess need for protective services and develop safety plans.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community partners.
• Guardianship & Legal Interventions: Initiate and manage guardianship proceedings.
• Prepare legal documentation and represent DSS in court.
• In-Home Aide & Support Services: Assess eligibility and level of care needs.
• Develop and monitor plans that support safe, independent living.
• Long-Term Care & Special Assistance: Evaluate placement needs for adult care homes or nursing facilities.
• Determine eligibility for Special Assistance and Medicaid services.
• Conduct ongoing reassessments.
• Case Management & Collaboration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary partners; provide crisis intervention and long-term case planning.
