Job summary

Virginia Department of Corrections is seeking an Intelligence Specialist (Supervisory) to lead a team in gathering, reviewing, and disseminating security threat information. You will oversee Command Center operations, ensure timely situational awareness, and coordinate responses during high-demand events.

The role requires experience in criminal intelligence, supervisory leadership, and proficiency with RMS or VACORIS.

Qualifications

• Experience in criminal intelligence, investigations, threat analysis, or related fields.
• Supervisory experience directing operational staff.
• Ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and produce professional intelligence products.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Command Center operations with real-time monitoring and incident coordination.
• Supervises staff, providing performance feedback, coaching, evaluations, and adherence to investigative standards.
• Direct intelligence gathering, review, pattern identification, and production of actionable intelligence products.
• Maintain quality control over investigative entries in RMS, VACORIS, and related systems.
• Support investigative activities involving gangs, criminal enterprises, contraband networks, and security threat groups.
• Serve as an interchangeable supervisory resource, able to assume responsibilities of the second Supervisory Intelligence (Supervisor).
• Maintain and promote partnerships with DOC units, law enforcement agencies, and external intelligence personnel.
• Develop and deliver structured training, classroom instruction, and operational guidance.
