Incline Insurance Group is seeking an experienced attorney to join our legal team as Legal Counsel in Austin, TX. This hybrid role focuses on reinsurance agreements, MGA and program contracts, and regulatory matters across a growing multilayer insurance operation.

Qualifications

• Requires JD and active license to practice law in at least one US state.
• Texas license or eligibility to obtain Texas authorization within required timeframe.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in insurance carrier or reinsurance environment.
• Prior reinsurance drafting, reviewing, negotiating, or advising on reinsurance agreements.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate reinsurance agreements (quota share, excess of loss, facultative).
• Support reinsurance placements, treaty terms, contract interpretation, and collateral provisions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate MGA, program administrator, and related agreements.
• Lead negotiations with MGAs, reinsurers, brokers, and external partners.
• Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance to executives and internal teams.
• Research and interpret multi-state insurance laws and regulatory requirements.
• Support communications with state Departments of Insurance and regulators.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and propose practical solutions.
• Coordinate with Claims and external counsel on significant matters.
• Support corporate initiatives and new business programs.
• Manage outside counsel for specialized matters.
