Qualifications
- Admitted to practice law in West Virginia.
- Seven years of full-time or equivalent law practice with one year of trial work.
- One year supervisory or lead worker experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced legal work under supervision and supervise staff in the Legal Regulatory unit.
- Provide legal advice on insurance matters to the Commissioner and divisions.
- Conduct administrative hearings, file pleadings, and represent the Commissioner in court.
- Research legislation and prepare briefs, memoranda, and correspondence.
- Respond to inquiries and interpret insurance/workers' compensation statutes and case law.
- Supervise attorneys, paralegals, investigators, and support staff and assign work.
