Job summary

GAIC Great American Insurance Company in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an experienced insurance professional to examine and process new policies, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations using various systems.

You will load data, generate policy documents, prepare reports, manage billing status, and seek ways to streamline procedures while collaborating with a team. The role is on-site four days a week with one remote day in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
  • 6+ years in insurance operations or customer service.
  • Property/Casualty license preferred.
  • Knowledge of Excess and Primary lines of business.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal insurance policies.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Examine and process new policies, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations using systems.
  • Enter or load data and resolve data errors.
  • Generate and distribute policy documents and certificates of insurance.
  • Organize, prepare, and update reports; manage billing status.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline procedures and reduce costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
  • Examines and processes new insurance policies, complex renewals, endorsements, and cancellations using various systems.
  • Enters or loads data into appropriate systems and researches and resolves data errors.
  • Generates and distributes policy documents, certificates of insurance, and other related materials.
  • Organizes, prepares, and updates reports. Determines and adjust billing status as needed.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline procedures, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred)
  • Great American's culture is built on connection shared learning and strong relationships. To Support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site at our Downtown Los Angeles office four days a week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in-office days are Tuesday - Thursday, with fourth day determined by business needs.
Experience:
  • Generally, a minimum of 6 years of experience in insurance operations or customer service. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Property/Casualty Insurance license.
  • Knowledge in Excess and Primary line of business.
Scope of Job/Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal insurance-related policies.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational abilities with a focus on prioritization.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance data processing systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, analytical, organizational skills, team player and detail oriented.
  • May provide training, guidance and assistance to lower-level positions.

Salary Range:

$22.12 -$33.17
