Job summary

Great American Insurance Group seeks an experienced insurance operations professional to process complex policies, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations, ensuring data integrity across systems.

Responsibilities include generating policy documents, preparing reports, managing billing status, answering premium inquiries, and identifying efficiency improvements. On-site in Downtown Los Angeles; 10+ years in insurance required; HS diploma or better.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in insurance operations, Property/Casualty and Excess and Primary insurance.
  • Knowledge in Excess and Primary lines of business.

  • Examines and processes highly complex new insurance policies, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations using various systems.
  • Enters or loads complex data into appropriate systems, conducting thorough research and resolution of data discrepancies to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Generates and distributes policy documents, certificates of insurance, and other related materials, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Organizes, prepares, and updates comprehensive reports.
  • Determines and adjusts billing status as needed.
  • Addresses premium/billing inquiries.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline procedures, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Job Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred) Great American's culture is built on connection shared learning and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site at our Downtown Los Angeles office four (4) days per week, with the flexibility to work one day remotely. Core in-office days are Tuesday - Thursday, with fourth day determined by business needs.
  • Experience: Generally, a minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance operations, Property/Casualty and Excess and Primary insurance. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Property/Casualty Insurance license.
  • Knowledge in Excess and Primary line of business.
Scope of Job/Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of local, state, and federal insurance-related policies.
  • Advanced analytical and organizational abilities with a focus on prioritization.
  • Expert knowledge of insurance data processing systems and leverages broad understanding of the organization.
  • As appropriate for line of business, may authorize new business, renewals, and endorsements following specific instructions or guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Provides guidance, training, and assistance to lower-level positions.
  • Serves as a resource for other functional areas.

Company: GAIC Great American Insurance Company Salary Range: $27.65 -$45.34
