Job summary

Berkley Aspire is seeking a Litigation Specialist to handle advanced-level, primarily litigated, commercial first-property and/or third-party general liability losses in a paperless environment. This role can be based in Scottsdale, AZ or other US locations.

Responsibilities include setting up loss assignments, reserving, analyzing policy language, drafting coverage letters and managing outside vendors, while maintaining compliance with state statutes.

Qualifications

• Fifteen years of experience in insurance claims.
• Excess and Surplus lines background preferred.
• Commercial General Liability experience required.
• CPCU / AIC / AEI or similar designations preferred.
• Certifications required by state.

Responsibilities

• Review and set up new loss assignments in a timely manner per guidelines.
• Establish initial loss and expense reserves and regularly evaluate adequacy.
• Analyze policy language with loss facts to reach coverage decisions.
• Draft complex coverage correspondence in compliance with state laws.
• Proactively manage litigated claim files from inception to closure.
• Mentor and train interns and collaborate with management.
