Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in compliance, legal, audit or risk within financial services or insurance.
• In-depth knowledge of South African insurance laws and industry standards.
• Experience with internal controls, audits, and regulatory reporting software.
• Tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Finance or related field required.
• Professional compliance certifications (e.g., CCEP, CRM) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the company's compliance program following SA laws (FAIS, PFA, POPIA, FICA).
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on operations, policies and procedures.
• Conduct internal compliance audits and reviews for adherence to policies.
• Investigate breaches, escalate issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulators.
• Provide staff training on compliance and ethics.
• Advise on risk management strategies related to compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Serve as point of contact for regulators and external auditors.
• Keep up-to-date with industry best practices in compliance and risk.
• Ensure proper implementation and oversight of data privacy regulations.
