Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking a Legal Claims Professional for the Management Solutions group. The role handles Private/Non-Profit D&O, EPL, and Fiduciary claims of moderate to high complexity under limited supervision, coordinating with defense counsel and underwriters.

The position requires a JD and 5+ years of legal/insurance experience, licensure as an adjuster, and strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Hybrid work options are available across multiple U.S.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and 5+ years of experience in the legal area, with insurance focus.
• JD and 5+ years of legal practice in the insurance area.
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses.
• Experience in insurance claims and the insurance legal and regulatory environment.
• Negotiation experience.
• Customer service experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze coverage, liability, damages and exposure.
• Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Draft reservation of rights and coverage denial letters.
• Notify Underwriter of claim issues and account performance.
• Draft case summary reports in connection with significant reserve increases and trial preparation.
• Direct and engage with the activities of defense counsel.
• Analyze risk and minimize exposure.
• Strategically direct claims to timely and appropriate resolutions.
