Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners in Richmond, VA, is seeking a Senior Insurance Authorization Specialist for an on-site role at Bon Secours - St Mary's Hospital. You will support insurance authorization and verification for scheduled services, mentor junior staff, and help maintain accuracy and compliance across payer processes.

Experience with insurance workflows and a CRCR certification within 9 months are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in a related role.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to AI-driven process improvement.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire - company paid.

Responsibilities

• Support Insurance Authorization I staff in selecting accurate medical records and obtaining/validating demographic and insurance information; collaborate with insurance companies and physician offices to complete authorization requirements.
• Assist the supervisor with escalated issues, training and mentoring of new hires; help achieve accuracy/quality metrics and productivity standards.
• Identify appropriate clinical records and submit authorization requests to insurance companies based on plan requirements.
• Liaise between ordering physicians and insurance companies to ensure all requirements to secure approval are identified and communicated.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
