Job summary

Altasciences is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist, Instrumentation to maintain and calibrate HPLC systems and mass spectrometers, manage parts inventory, and schedule preventive maintenance.

The role includes coaching technicians, ensuring compliance with SOPs/GLPs, and participating in technology evaluations and protocol reviews. Fluency in English and strong documentation skills are essential; ability to handle heavy equipment and troubleshoot complex systems is required.

Qualifications

• College or university degree in Chemistry or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience with chromatographic equipment.
• Extensive hands-on experience with chromatographic systems and detectors.
• Strong understanding of SOPs and FDA-GLP guidelines.
• Experience calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting lab instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform tuning of mass spectrometric detectors.
• Carry out preventive maintenance of HPLC systems and MS detectors.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex HPLC/MS malfunctions.
• Manage inventory of consumables and parts for chromatographic systems.
• Coordinate maintenance scheduling, tuning, calibration, and repair of equipment.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to Instrument Service Technicians.
