Job summary
Cajun Engineering Solutions in Tyler, TX is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer focused on specification, requisitioning, and technical evaluation of instrumentation for industrial capital and maintenance projects.
You will develop high-quality instrument datasheets, specifications, and procurement packages, ensuring compliance with project and client requirements while coordinating with vendors and project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from an accredited university.
- Professional Engineering registration is required.
- 10+ years in instrument engineering.
- Experience with instrument specification, datasheet development, and requisitioning.
- Familiarity with ISA, API, NEC standards.
- Experience interfacing with control systems (PLC/DCS).
- Proficient with drafting tools and office software.
Responsibilities
- Develop instrument datasheets, specifications, and procurement packages.
- Apply Cajun and client engineering standards to instrumentation deliverables.
- Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and procurement.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, sketches, and documentation.
- Review calculations for technical accuracy and compliance.
- Mentor less experienced engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Develop instrument packages and scopes for procurement inquiries.
- Review vendor drawings for instrumentation requirements.
