Job summary

Cajun Engineering Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Instrumentation Engineer to develop instrument specifications, datasheets, and procurement packages for industrial capital and maintenance projects.

The role requires 10+ years in instrument engineering, PE registration, and strong vendor coordination. You will work with project teams, vendors, and procurement to ensure compliant selections and timely delivery, while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in instrument engineering.
• Strong experience in instrument specification, datasheet development, and equipment requisitioning.
• Proven ability to perform technical bid evaluations and vendor comparisons.
• Familiarity with ISA, API, NEC standards.
• Experience coordinating with vendors, procurement, and control systems interfaces.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering; PE registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop instrument deliverables including specifications, datasheets, and procurement packages.
• Support project teams, vendors, and procurement for efficient equipment purchasing and delivery.
• Review vendor drawings and instrument interfaces with control systems (PLC/DCS).
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters.
• Coordinate with disciplines to ensure timely information exchange and document control.
