Job summary

Peterson Technology Partners (PTP) seeks a Senior I&C Engineer for a 100% onsite role in Birmingham, AL, focusing on instrumentation and control-system design for simple-cycle and combined-cycle power projects.

You will develop P&IDs, specify instrumentation and control valves, and craft turbine and balance-of-plant control strategies while supporting HAZOP/SIL reviews, checkout, construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical, Chemical or related Engineering.
• 7+ years I&C experience.
• PLC and/or DCS experience.

Our Client is seeking a Senior I&C Engineer responsible for instrumentation and control-system design supporting simple-cycle and combined-cycle power-generation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop P&IDs
• Specify instrumentation and control valves
• Develop turbine and balance-of-plant control strategies
• Support HAZOP/SIL reviews
• Support checkout, construction and commissioning
• Troubleshoot startup and controls issues

Required

• BS Electrical, Chemical or related Engineering
• 7+ years I&C experience
• PLC and/or DCS experience

Preferred

• Simple-cycle / combined-cycle experience
• EPC background
• Emerson, Honeywell, Siemens or Allen-Bradley
• SIL/SIS experience
• PE license

Rate: $70/hr- $90/hr (depends on the experience level). This is contract position with contractors expected to work 40 hours a week.
