Job summary

Primoris Pipeline, Inc. is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Designer to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, CADWorx Structure, and Electrical Design Suite.

You will work with minimal supervision and ensure compliance with NEC and project standards while coordinating with engineers and CAD designers. The role involves site visits, vendor drawing reviews, developing 3D models of cable trays and conduits, and producing schedules and diagrams.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of Instrumentation & Controls or Electrical Design experience.
• Experience creating construction drawing packages.
• Experience performing field verification/site visits.
• Experience coordinating with engineers and multiple disciplines.
• Experience reviewing vendor drawings.
• Experience mentoring junior CAD designers.
• Experience working with industrial facility projects.
• Associate degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field; or Technical/vocational training in CAD and electrical design; or Equivalent industry experience in Instrumentation & Controls design.

Responsibilities

• Advanced skillsets in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, CADWorx Structure, Electrical Design Suite.
• Take ownership of assigned projects or tasks, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Assist lead designer in review and markup of vendor drawings for constructability.
• Proficient with conduit fill, cable tray fill, and voltage drop/cable sizing/de-rating.
• Produce Electrical Conduit & Cable schedules using Microsoft Excel.
• Produce detailed 2D deliverables and 3D models using CAD software.
• Develop 3D complex models of cable tray systems and conduits in CADWorx Structure.
• Assist Lead designer with generating and maintaining IO lists.
