Job Description Summary
The Senior Instrumentation and controls Specialist will act as a leader / specialist in instrumentation and measurement techniques for the site Assembly & Test Organization. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve site instrumentation and measurement techniques
  • Collaborate with other GE test facilities to share best practices, and identify opportunities to drive consistency, simplification, and efficiency across sites
  • Produce plans to ensure technical requirements, costs, and schedules are met
  • Set realistic and challenging goals for the support of test operations
  • Provide training and support to test design teams and operators
  • Interface with both internal and external organizations and supporting functions
  • Direct / coordinate the efforts of project team members in order to accomplish overall goals
  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
  • Coordinate, direct, and coach the activities of operational support requirements and team members
  • Provide input on other individual contributor performance, training, and development needs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in engineering, testing, instrumentations and controls experience) + 5 years of experience in Engineering, Facilities Management, System Testing, and / or Instrumentation

  • Data Acquisition System (DAS) experience
  • Experience in defining, implementing, trouble-shooting instrumentation and/or maintenance of measurement chains
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude (PLC's, control systems)
