Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the maintenance and repair of electronic equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring systems including advanced principles of electrical and electronic theory.
• Understanding of solid state circuitry as used in computers and programmable controllers.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration and testing to preclude equipment failure and related process control problems.
• Repair, correct, and adjust equipment not meeting predetermined standards of operating efficiency.
• Review work orders, blueprints, shop drawings, and maintenance schedules with supervisory personnel.
• Plan tool and work sequences for maintenance activities and coordinate plans with assigned personnel.
• Assist in design and construction of new equipment or modification of existing electronic systems.
• Maintain inventory of tools, records, parts, and other material for preventive maintenance.
• Provide instruction to operations and maintenance personnel to improve understanding of equipment.
