Job summary

City of Sacramento is seeking an Instrument Technician II to install, service, and repair electronic and pneumatic instruments and instrument systems for water and wastewater facilities.

The role requires performing calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on sensors, analyzers, and related equipment, with opportunities to advance from the I level through dedicated training.

Qualifications

• One year of college-level coursework in instrumentation, physical science, and electronics, or equivalent training.
• Two years of experience installing, servicing, and repairing electronic and pneumatic instruments and instrument systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventive maintenance, calibration and testing of instrument inspection programs.
• Repair, correct, and adjust equipment to meet predetermined standards of operating efficiency.
• Review work orders, blueprints, and maintenance schedules with supervisory personnel.
• Plan tool and work sequences for maintenance activities and coordinate with assigned personnel.
