Job summary

Cascade Integration & Development (CID) is a Bend, Oregon based firm specializing in PLC, SCADA, and panel fabrication solutions for water, wastewater, and manufacturing industries. The Instrument and Controls Engineer role focuses on PLC and HMI programming, commissioning, and multi-platform software work across Ignition, AVEVA, and FactoryTalk View.

The position involves climate-controlled office work with field duties requiring PPE and safety training, plus 5%–20% travel for remote

Qualifications

Experience with PlantPAx, RSLogix/Studio 5000, and SCADA/HMI across Ignition, AVEVA, and FactoryTalk View.

Responsibilities

Project Management: oversee projects and provide oversight for other project managers.
Technical Writing: author and oversee development of training materials, control narratives, and functional test procedures.
PLC Programming: develop complete PLC programs and review work across project teams; define and develop UDTs and AOIs; program subsets of code across projects.
HMI Programming: develop and oversee complete HMI applications; develop OIT programs and graphic screens using pre-built objects; develop UDTs and templates; configure HMI platforms, historians, and reporting.
Commissioning & Support: manage commissioning efforts and execute test plans with customers; perform IO checkout including signal triggering and loop sourcing; configure PLC firmware, communication modules, VFDs, and instrumentation.
