Job summary

NiSource Inc. seeks an instructional design professional to oversee the design, development, and maintenance of technical and safety training programs for Gas Distribution Operations.

You will build rapport with internal customers to analyze performance problems and develop comprehensive training solutions, including courses, curricula, and assessments. You will conduct needs analyses, design and implement training, and evaluate outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or 3+ years in training roles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to deliver presentations using digital technology.
• Proficiency with Adobe tools to create training materials.
• Ability to craft visuals with digital photography/drawing software.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards.
• Knowledge of DOT Operator Qualifications.
• Knowledge of Gas Distribution Plant and Service activities.
• Knowledge of Electric and Transmission activities.
• Knowledge of Policy and Procedures.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, development, and maintenance of training programs and materials for NiSource Gas Distribution Operations.
• Analyze performance problems and design solutions with internal customers.
• Conduct needs analyses and design, implement, and evaluate courses.
• Develop written and performance-based assessment tools to measure learning objectives.
• Design training programs and exercises to meet organizational needs.
• Travel to NiSource locations to assess training needs and gather input from leaders and frontline workers.
• Develop instructor-led and online training materials; revise using feedback.
• Monitor industry trends and apply knowledge to improve training solutions.
• Organize instructional design projects and coordinate with instructors.
• Liaise with instructors on project planning and material revisions.
