Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is seeking an Instructional Designer to join the PG&E Academy Curriculum Development Team in support of Gas Operations learning needs. The role partners with SMEs and stakeholders to translate objectives into effective learning solutions across diverse formats, helping employees perform safely and efficiently.

This hybrid position supports Propel and Elevate initiatives and collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop from concept to implementation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in instructional design or related field.
• 10+ years of instructional design, communications, teaching, training, change management, or graphic design experience.
• Proven track record designing high-stakes, high-impact learning solutions.
• Progressive leadership experience in creating learning solutions for clients.
• Experience on large projects and with senior management to craft learning solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a thought leader with clients and senior management to design high-impact learning solutions.
• Create and drive instructional strategies for enterprise-wide programs.
• Possibly lead day-to-day training department operations with large cross-functional teams.
• Oversee design and production of complex learning projects measuring impact and ROI.
• Motivate leaders to adopt best practices in training design and align with business goals.
• Plan and execute strategies across various instructional disciplines with external stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor team members and project partners.
• Research industry best practices and apply them within PG&E.
