Job Description:
As a Senior Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design & development of large-scale modern learning initiatives. You will utilize your L&D Program Management expertise (using the ADDIE model) to lead key learning initiatives and demonstrate an advanced level of proficiency with Articulate and other tools to create videos, gamification, infographics, micro-learning, and interactive multimedia learning experiences. You will utilize the Kirkpatrick model to measure course impact. Additionally, you will assist your team members in evolving their design & development skills to meet the needs of today's learners.
We are seeking a highly innovative and results-oriented Learning Experience Designer (LXD) contractor to join our dynamic Talent Management team. This unique role will be part of transforming how our organization approaches skills-based learning and development, focusing on user-centric design principles and innovative methodologies. The LXD will be responsible for designing and developing a diverse range of impactful learning solutions focused on upskilling our associates, leveraging cutting-edge tools and technologies to address complex talent-related challenges and drive measurable business impact. This is an exciting opportunity for a curious self-starter who thrives on collaboration and continuous innovation.
Key Responsibilities
• Solution Design & Development: Design, develop, and implement a variety of innovative learning solutions, including but not limited to: micro-videos, interactive e-learning courses, infographics, interactive PDFs, job aids, instructor-led workshops, presentations, SharePoint sites, and other performance support tools.
• User-centric Application: Apply user-centric design thinking principles throughout the entire learning solution lifecycle, building solutions in an iterative way and ensuring solutions are highly engaging, effective, and tailored to the needs of the learner and the business while meeting the requirements of the project.
• Collaboration & Project Management: Work collaboratively as an individual contributor within the Talent Management team, managing multiple projects of various sizes and scope, and effectively communicating progress and challenges.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all learning solutions are high-quality, accurate, accessible, and aligned with organizational goals and brand guidelines.
Qualifications
• Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse learning solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in applying Design Thinking or other user-centric design methodologies to learning and development initiatives using an agile and iterative approach.
• Proficiency in a variety of authoring tools, multimedia, and technologies that enable learning to create deliverables such as interactive e-learning, micro videos, and digital learning assets (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, Camtasia, Stream, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).
• Experience using virtual collaboration tools such as Lucid, Miro, Figma, etc. as well as strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and engaging learning content.
• A self-starter with a high degree of curiosity, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to experimentation and continuous learning and improvement.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
