Job summary

Central SD 13J Independence Elementary in Independence, Oregon is seeking an Instructional Assistant IV to support classroom teachers in the Basic Life Skills Program and related settings. You will work with students in small groups and one-on-one, assisting with instructional tasks and supervision.

The role requires an Associate's degree or higher, English fluency, and CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or higher required or equivalent.
• Previous experience with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain; knowledge of restraint procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff in implementing instructional and behavioral objectives.
• Provide personal care assistance to students as needed (clothing, hygiene, toileting).
• Supervise students in various settings and monitor safety during activities.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records and progress.
• Assist with setup of classroom materials and scheduling tasks.
