The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is seeking to fill the Inspector General role for the Office of the Inspector General for the NYPD (OIG‑NYPD). Lead systemic investigations, manage staff, and provide high‑level oversight of NYPD operations and policies.

The position requires reporting, analysis, and robust collaboration with city agencies and the public. Ideal candidates have substantial supervisory experience, strong writing and communication skills, and a deep understanding

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of full-time investigation, auditing, law enforcement, management analysis, or related operational work.
• At least 18 months in supervisory, administrative, managerial, or executive capacity with Commissioner approval.

Responsabilités

• Lead systemic investigations and reviews of NYPD operations, policies and programs.
• Draft and edit investigative reports with actionable recommendations.
• Represent DOI before NYPD, prosecutors, other city agencies, and the public.
• Supervise investigators, attorneys, analysts, auditors, and outreach staff.
• Participate in recruitment and training of OIG‑NYPD personnel.
• Stay informed on policing issues and identify new review topics.
• Perform confidential assignments as directed by agency leadership.
