Cribl, a leading data observability software company, is seeking a staff-level investigator to join a hybrid team focused on insider threat, digital forensics, and executive protection. You will lead complex investigations end-to-end, brief executives, and help mature security programs.

You will analyze laptops and devices, ensure chain of custody, and coordinate with HR, Legal, and security colleagues, while traveling as needed to protect principals and events.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience across insider threat investigations, digital/hardware forensics, and physical/executive protection
• Lead investigator on insider risk cases involving sensitive, high-stakes or legally exposed matters
• Experience with employment law, HR investigation standards, and confidentiality in internal investigations
• Hands-on forensic skills with standard tooling and hardware-level techniques
• Active certification through IACIS (CFCE) or comparable credentialing body
• Travel risk assessment/intelligence gathering and coordination with executive support staff

Responsibilities

• Lead insider risk investigations from detection to closure with scoping, evidence collection, interviews, findings and remediation recommendations
• Partner with HR, Legal, and Employee Relations ensuring defensible, confidential investigations
• Build and mature insider risk program components: detection use cases, escalation criteria, case workflows
• Brief sensitive findings to senior stakeholders with discretion and documentation
• Conduct forensic acquisition and analysis of laptops, mobile devices, removable media, and network artifacts
• Maintain chain of custody and provide litigation-ready documentation
• Perform hardware-level forensics (disk imaging, teardown/analysis)
• Support physical security programs and executive protection planning
