Blue Origin in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a Senior Navigation Engineer to design, implement, and test Kalman-filter based estimation for INS/GPS, and to lead navigation components within the GNC and Avionics team. Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5-10 years in navigation systems analysis, design, testing.
• Expertise in Kalman filters for INS navigation.
• Strong knowledge of inertial sensors and GPS tech.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for modelling and analysis.
• Proficient in C++ or Python for algorithm development.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor engineers.
• US citizenship or eligible for U.S. security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement advanced navigation and estimation algorithms, with a primary focus on Kalman filters for INS.
• Model and simulate inertial sensors and GPS receivers to analyze navigation performance.
• Lead integration of navigation components into the GNC and avionics architecture.
• Develop and execute test plans for simulation and hardware-in-the-loop validation.
• Analyze sensor data to calibrate IMUs and other navigation sensors.
• Troubleshoot navigation issues during testing and operations.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in navigation systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.
