Job summary

VectorNav Technologies is seeking a Senior Navigation Engineer to advance estimation algorithms for inertial navigation systems. You will push state-of-the-art methods and collaborate with product teams to improve software based on real customer data.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience in navigation and state estimation, proficiency in Matlab/C++/Python, and strong communication skills. A master’s or PhD is preferred, with expertise in GNSS/INS and real-world data applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
• 10+ years experience in navigation and state estimation, particularly Kalman filters.
• Proficiency with Matlab, C/C++, Python or other software languages.
• Experience with inertial navigation systems, GPS/GNSS technology, and/or modern controls in real-world data (not just simulation).
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Push forward VectorNav’s state-of-the-art estimation algorithms for inertial navigation systems.
• Research and develop novel GNSS-denied navigation filtering, incorporating a wide range of sensing modalities.
• Use Matlab for simulation and data analysis based on customers’ real-world datasets.
• Collaborate with the customer support team to incorporate customer feedback to improve VectorNav’s software.
