Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Current HIM or Coding Certification through AHIMA or AAPC.
• 3 years of hospital inpatient coding or IRAD coding experience.
• Graduate of HIT or equivalent program OR Medical Coding Certification Program.

Aufgaben

• Codes inpatient and/or IRAD 90% of current FTE status.
• Reviews and interprets medical record documentation to assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT codes.
• Ensures accurate MS-DRG assignment based on coding and documentation.
• Assigns hospital codes to various patient classes (I/P, IRAD).
• Maintains timely coding, charging and abstraction for assigned areas.
• Keeps up-to-date coding knowledge through internal trainings and seminars.
