Job summary

Ideal candidates have AHIMA/AAPC training and 3+ years of coding experience, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of work experience, or Associate's and 1 year, or Diploma/Certification in Coding and 1 year experience.
• Preferred: Associate's in HIM or AHIMA/AAPC coding program completion.

Responsibilities

• Navigate patient health records to determine diagnosis and procedure codes, MS-DRGs and APCs.
• Validate charges against documentation.
• Communicate with clinicians and staff on documentation issues.
• Identify and escalate coding concerns to leadership.
• Maintain knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement regulations.
