DaMar Staffing seeks a Senior Inpatient Coder (part-time) in North Carolina to provide timely ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, DRG assignment, and medical record abstraction.

The role collaborates with the coding and CDS teams to ensure accurate reimbursement and quality data. Requires RHIT/RHIA, CPC/CCS/Outpatient coder credentials, an Associate degree, 5+ years inpatient coding experience, and DRG analysis expertise.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years inpatient coding experience
• Experience in Diagnosis-Related Group analysis required
• Associate's Degree in Health Information Management required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Registered Health Information Technician, Registered Health Information Administrator, Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Specialist, or Certified Outpatient Coder required

Responsibilities

• Perform coding and DRG assignment for inpatient records to ensure accurate reimbursement and statistical reporting
• Review SMART accounts daily and serve as a liaison between coders and the Clinical Documentation Specialist (CDS) team
• Collect predefined indicators and abstract medical records as necessary to support coding accuracy
