Job summary

IAT Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Inland Marine & Property Underwriter in Plano or Spring, Texas, with a hybrid schedule (office Mon–Wed, remote Thu–Fri). You will manage and grow a profitable inland marine and property book, build strong broker relationships, and help shape pricing and coverage decisions.

You will evaluate submissions, analyze loss runs, set pricing, and collaborate with claims and internal teams to ensure coverage clarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years inland marine and/or property underwriting experience.
• Solid understanding of insurance marketplace, pricing and competitive positioning.
• Proven ability to build and maintain broker relationships that drive new and renewal business.
• Experience managing a book of business while contributing to growth.
• Strong skills in pricing, risk selection, and deal structuring.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a profitable book of inland marine and property business across the Region.
• Build strong, lasting relationships with agency partners to drive high-quality new business.
• Evaluate submissions, pricing, and coverage structures with sound judgment.
• Analyze loss runs, exposure changes, and underwriting data to understand risk.
• Set pricing reflecting exposure and performance using loss analysis and experience.
• Structure accounts with deductibles and coverage adjustments to close deals properly.
• Review policy language to ensure coverage intent is clear for brokers and teams.
• Partner with claims and internal stakeholders to clarify coverage when needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
