Job summary

IAT Insurance Group in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Senior Inland Marine & Property Production Underwriter to manage a current book of business and help grow our western footprint. This role follows a hybrid model with in-office Monday–Wednesday and remote Thursday–Friday, focusing on file analysis, pricing, contract review, and collaboration with agencies on coverage decisions.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree and 4+ years underwriting experience or 6 years equivalent, plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, Business or related field.
• Equivalent is defined as 6 years of relevant commercial underwriting experience.
• Thorough knowledge of the Insurance Industry.
• Aptitude for building relationships with agents, brokers and underwriters.
• Ability to apply loss development and advanced loss analysis for pricing.
• Ability to creatively utilize coverage features, deductibles, or reinsurance to meet objectives.
• Thorough knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting, pricing and regulatory issues.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Market to assigned agencies to achieve acceptable new business flow.
• Review and analyze underwriting files to accept new business or renewals within authority.
• Review documents to identify changes in exposure and minimize risk.
• Determine account premium levels within authority limits.
• Interpret contracts and policies to determine exposures and provide guidance.
• Provide coverage verification to Claims Department.
• Assess agency activity and clarify company positions during annual visits.
• Perform other tasks as needed.
