IAT Insurance Group seeks an Underwriting Specialist for Inland Marine & Property, based in Naperville or Rolling Meadows, IL, Milwaukee, WI, or Kansas City, MO. This role blends underwriting leadership with broker relationship growth to expand our profitable book and market footprint.

The position follows a hybrid model with in-office Monday–Wednesday and optional remote Thursday–Friday, accompanied by a competitive compensation package including base salary and bonus opportunities.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of inland marine and/or property underwriting experience.
• Strong understanding of inland marine and property products, pricing, and market competition.
• Proven ability to develop broker relationships that support new and renewal business.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Aufgaben

• Own and grow a profitable book of inland marine and property business across the region.
• Build and strengthen agency relationships to drive high-quality new business flow.
• Evaluate risks, pricing, and coverage structures using experience and judgment.
• Analyze submissions, loss history, exposure changes, and external data for underwriting decisions.
• Set pricing reflecting risk using loss analysis and business strategy.
• Structure deals with coverage features, deductibles, or reinsurance to meet client and company goals.
• Interpret policies and contracts clearly for brokers and internal partners including claims when needed.
• Meet with distribution partners at least 5 times per month to stay close to market activity and trends.
• Perform other duties as needed.
