Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company in Hartford, CT is seeking an Account Executive Officer, Inland Marine. You will partner with agents and brokers to provide coverage for new and renewal business based on customers' needs.

This role is a technical resource, requiring decisive, detail-oriented thinking and strong relationship-building to drive profitability. You will independently assess complex risk, negotiate with agents and brokers, and support sales plans across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Six to eight years of underwriting experience with inland marine.
• CPCU designation is preferred.
• Four years of underwriting, claim, operations, risk assessment, actuarial, sales, product, or finance experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross-selling opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with external partners by meeting agents and brokers to market Travelers products.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans with the Managing Director to create region/group sales plans.
• Assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
