Job summary

OTTO Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer – Communications in Illinois to develop methods and processes for new and existing products.

You will manage multiple projects, coordinate with engineering, production, vendors, and customers, and provide production support to meet goals. The role requires establishing design concepts for jigs/fixtures, updating tooling for quality and cycle-time improvements, and preparing layouts, BOMs, ECNs, and CAD drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer or equivalent.
• Machine Shop/machine building experience preferred.
• Experience in basic electronics, wiring, and programming preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish design concepts for jigs and fixtures from production drawings or feedback.
• Make design changes to tooling to improve quality and reduce cycle time.
• Prepare layouts, BOMs, ECNs, and other documents (CAD preferred).
• Assemble and debug mechanisms.
• Order purchased components for in-house designs.
• Work with machine shop to fabricate components.
• Train production personnel to safely operate equipment.
• Develop process flowcharts and write process specifications.
• Provide production line support and implement new products to manufacturing.
