Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Pharmacy Technician in Louisiana to enter prescriptions, verify patient data, and liaise with patients, pharmacists, and doctors. You will handle refill assessments and coordinate with outpatient facilities while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.

Requirements include a LA Pharmacy Technician license, 4+ years of experience, Windows proficiency, and ability to lift up to 30 lbs. External candidates are eligible for a $1,200 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Louisiana.
• 4+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Intermediate Windows PC proficiency and ability to learn complex systems.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Enter prescriptions from intake to order completion and verify data.
• Contact patients, pharmacists, and doctors as liaison for the pharmacy team.
• Communicate clearly via phone and electronic methods to patients and providers.
• Complete refill assessments, collect payment details, and set up treatment areas.
• Access and retrieve prescriptions and med/lab info from the computer system.
• Verify reimbursement eligibility and resolve rejected claims.
• Process refills and interpret supply needs for therapies.
• Resolve customer issues with accurate information.
• Multitask and coordinate with multiple business partners for patient care.
• Follow state/federal regulations and HIPAA confidentiality.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Enter prescriptions from intake to order completion and verify member/patient data
• Contact patients, pharmacists, and doctor's offices as a liaison for the pharmacy team
• Communicate clearly and concisely via phone and electronic methods to patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers
• Contact patients to complete refill assessments, request payment information, established delivery details, and set up treatment in the Ambulatory Infusion Suite and/or other outpatient facilities
• Access, input, and retrieve prescriptions and medical/lab information from computer system
• Verify whether medication is reimbursable, and resolve rejected claims
• Process prescription refills and interpret supply needs as related to various therapies
• Resolve customer issues, ensuring accurate information is provided
• Able to multitask and channel communication from various business partners, driving patient centric quality care
• Follow all state and Federal regulations and Pharmacy Policies and Procedures, adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality code of ethics

Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Louisiana
• 4+ years of experience working as a Pharmacy Technician
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Windows PC applications including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift to 30lbs
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications:

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)
• Previous Home Infusion experience
• Pharmacy/prescription data entry experience
