Job summary

Optum is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Roseville, MN team, performing sterile compounding in a compliant setting. The role includes managing compounding supplies, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining rigorous cleaning and documentation practices.

You will work weekdays 7:30am–5:00pm with a focus on accuracy, safety, and collaboration within the pharmacy team. The position requires an active Minnesota license and at least one year of sterile compounding experience; CSPT or PTCB

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of sterile compounding experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterile compounding according to policy and USP 797/800.
• Maintain competency in sterile compounding.
• Assist in medication management for pharmacy compounding, including ordering and receiving supplies.
• Troubleshoot equipment related to compounding.
• Complete and document cleaning and monitoring activities for sterile areas.
• Collaborate with team to triage compounding needs promptly.
• Pursue ongoing didactic and practical training on sterile compounding.

Position Location:

Position Scheduled:

Monday through Friday from 7:30am-5:00pm

Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform sterile compounding according to company policy and regulations including USP 797 and USP 800
• Maintain competency related to performing sterile compounding
• Participate in medication management for pharmacy compounding, including medication and supply ordering, receiving, and maintenance
• Troubleshoot equipment, hardware, and software issues relating to compounding
• Participate in completing and documenting all cleaning and monitoring activities identified for areas related to sterile compounding including daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning requirements
• Work within a team to triage and respond to all compounding needs promptly
• Maintain ongoing didactic and practical training related to sterile compounding

Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Minnesota
• 1+ years of consistent sterile compounding experience
• Ability to work at 2685 Patton Rd. Roseville, MN 55113, Monday through Friday from 7:30am-5:00pm

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Compounded Sterile Preparations Technician (CSPT) certification
• Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification
• Ability to work independently to solve high-stakes problems

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks
• Ability to lift to 30 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
