Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking an Infrastructure Technician for a 6-month contract in New Albany, OH. You will install, test, and support copper and fiber cabling systems across enterprise and data centers, while ensuring NEC/ANSI/BICSI compliance.

You will lead small teams, mentor junior technicians, and coordinate with project managers to hit milestones and maintain safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage cabling systems.
• Proven ability to install, terminate, test, and certify copper and fiber systems.
• Understanding NEC, ANSI, TIA, EIA, and BICSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, upgrade, and decommission structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic and low-voltage infrastructure.
• Perform fiber optic fusion splicing, including high-strand ribbon fiber splicing, termination and certification testing.
• Conduct copper and fiber testing using Fluke DSX8000, OTDR and VFL equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Install and remove racks, cabinets, cable trays, pathways, patch panels, and network infrastructure components.
• Rack and stack servers, network devices, and telecommunications equipment within data centers and enterprise environments.
• Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, port maps, and technical documentation to support project execution.
• Troubleshoot structured cabling, fiber networks, and low-voltage systems to identify and resolve connectivity issues.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, ANSI, TIA/EIA, and BICSI standards, and site safety requirements.
• Lead small teams of technicians, provide mentorship, and maintain high standards for safety and productivity.
• Coordinate with project managers, customers, and field teams to meet milestones and deadlines.
• Maintain documentation for testing results, materials, labor hours, and progress updates.
• Respond to service requests and support move/add/change activities with customer-facing technical support.
