Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking skilled technicians in the Columbus area to install and maintain low voltage cabling systems. The role emphasizes team leadership, mentoring juniors, and ensuring safe, quality project execution.

Candidates should read blueprints and understand NEC/ANSI/TIA/EIA standards, with OSHA10 and First Aid/CPR within 90 days. Openings exist for 5 technicians with Mon–Fri day shifts and occasional after-hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage cabling systems.
• Experience leading teams and mentoring junior technicians.
• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
• Knowledge of NEC, ANSI, TIA, EIA, and BICSI standards.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• OSHA10 and First Aid/CPR certifications required or to be obtained within 90 days.

Positions Details:

• Shift days/hours: Mon – Fri, 7:00am-3:30pm
• Flexibility for after hours and some weekends as project demands
• Openings: 5
• 5+ years installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage cabling systems
• Previous experience leading teams, mentoring junior level technicians, and ensures safe, quality focused execution
• Proven ability to install, terminate, test, and certify copper and fiber systems
• Experience with major manufacturers (Panduit, CommScope, Corning, Leviton, etc.) preferred
• Understanding of NEC, ANSI, TIA, EIA, and BICSI standards
• Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• BICSI Technician Certification highly desired
• OSHA10 preferred (must obtain within 90 days).
• First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days.
• Required Tools - Snips, basic hand tools, steel/composite toe boots, VFL (preferred), cordless drill/impact, pliers, testers, punch tools, tape measure, level, flashlight/headlamp, and more.
