Job summary

Vir Biotechnology, Inc. seeks a Senior Infrastructure & IT Security Engineer (Temp Staff) to join the IT team in San Francisco.

This senior, hands-on role combines infrastructure engineering and security operations to secure and optimize endpoints, cloud services, servers, networking, and security tools. You will own problem resolution from identification to fix, documenting procedures and improving automation.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, cybersecurity, or related enterprise IT roles.
• Strong experience supporting and securing Windows, macOS, Windows Server, and Linux environments.
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS, and with identity management, networking, and endpoint solutions.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and enhance infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents.
• Develop automation to improve efficiency and operational visibility.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify, assess, and remediate security risks and configuration gaps.
