Job summary

Temporal Technologies in San Francisco is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to own the architecture, automation, and security of the company’s IT platforms. You’ll design reliable identity, device management, and security tooling and be the onsite IT presence for the new SF office.

You’ll lead multi-team initiatives with IT, Security, Engineering, and People teams, set standards, mentor staff, and coordinate with vendors while ensuring executive‑level reliability and security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT, systems engineering, or similar roles with platform ownership.
• Deep expertise in IAM, device management, or zero-trust tooling.
• Strong scripting in Python/TypeScript/Bash/PowerShell with API integrations.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects to completion and rollout.
• Ability to communicate tradeoffs clearly to executives and stakeholders.
• Hands-on with enterprise networking and conferencing systems.
• Comfort supporting senior executives with discretion and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, reliability, and roadmap for core IT platforms.
• Design automation and internal tooling to reduce manual work.
• Lead multi-team technical initiatives from design to rollout.
• Set standards and write runbooks for IT teams.
• Evaluate tools and vendors, justify decisions on cost and risk.
• Partner with Security to enforce controls and compliance.
• Serve as escalation point and address root causes.
• Mentor IT Support specialists to raise technical bar.
• Own SF office tech end to end: network, Wi‑Fi, AV.
• Support video conferencing and meeting rooms for all participants.
• Provide white-glove executive support during meetings.
• Occasional travel to events and Temporal locations.
