Prudential Financial in Newark, NJ is seeking a senior IT security engineer to integrate security controls into a global infrastructure. You will collaborate with Product Owners and Tech Leads to mature, scale, and sustain security capabilities.

This role operates in an agile environment, serving as tier 4 support, with on-call rotations and a focus on perimeter and cloud security, data protection, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in an IT engineering role and SDLC awareness.
• Experience with on-prem perimeter security controls (proxies, firewalls).
• Experience with cloud perimeter security (WAF, DoS, Zero Trust).
• Ability to create engineering specs, runbooks and playbooks.

Responsibilities

• Engineering, implementation, and support of perimeter security controls.
• Align capabilities with security policies and standards.
• Coordinate deployment with business units to minimize disruption.
• Operate within an agile framework and break work into sprints.
• Provide progress updates via JIRA and daily scrums.
• Serve as tier 4 support with on-call rotations after hours.
