Job summary

FactSet’s Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure team seeks a Lead Infrastructure Operations Engineer to own infrastructure operations at our Virginia data center. You will manage projects, coach engineers, and drive automation to ensure scalable, reliable services across platforms.

You will partner with senior stakeholders to plan deployments, optimize tooling, and oversee contractor relationships while maintaining cost-efficiency and high availability.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in data center or enterprise infrastructure operations, including hardware, networking, and systems support, with a record of increasing responsibility.
• Bachelor degree in computer science or related.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and rollouts from planning through delivery.
• Experience with alerting, monitoring, and incident management in a production environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including with director-level and cross-departmental audiences.
• Experience coaching and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical owner of infrastructure operations at the Virginia data center.
• Lead the enhancement of infrastructure software and hardware tooling to improve deployment, connectivity, and the user experience.
• Provide project management and technical oversight for large-scale technology rollouts and facility buildouts.
• Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure design, with a focus on autonomy and scalability.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production issues, and act as the escalation point for infrastructure support.
• Partner with director-level stakeholders and other departments to align goals and integrate tools, systems, and projects.
• Manage contractor and vendor relationships to deliver regionalized services and contracts that are cost-conscious and beneficial to end users.
• Champion best practices, coach and mentor engineers, and foster technical excellence across the team.
• Monitor capacity across our infrastructure in the datacenter.
