Job summary

Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) seeks an Infrastructure and Network Services Administrator to lead system infrastructure, security initiatives and enterprise tech. You will plan, implement, and maintain servers, networks, virtualization, backups, AD, and connectivity to support students, faculty and staff.

The role requires leadership, project planning, and strong cybersecurity awareness, with on-site work schedule M-F and occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Information Technology with networking emphasis.
• Industry credentials / professional certifications.
• Experience with enterprise network administration and cybersecurity concepts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Institutional Information Security Officer and liaison with System Office.
• Supervise Network Manager and firewall support strategies.
• Administer Milestone, Hik Vision, VEEAM Backup, virtualization, certificates, and firewall systems.
• Oversee server, switch, router installation and AD domain management.
• Ensure connectivity with wiring terminations and backup power for critical infra.
• Maintain wireless network, access points, and WAN/LAN circuits.
