Job summary

South Central College is seeking an Information Technology Spec 3 – Network Administrator to design, implement and maintain the college's network infrastructure. You will lead security and compliance efforts, align with NIST controls, and ensure reliable data transport across campus.

You will monitor security with SIEM tools, document configurations, and coordinate with IT staff to meet policy requirements and operational needs.

Qualifications

• Three years IT work experience with progressive experience in Microsoft Networks, Network Hardware and VoIP configurations.
• Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of network equipment including NAT, VLAN, VPN, VoIP and data encryption.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, standards and best practices with the ability to diagnose complex issues.
• Working knowledge of WAN routing and firewall best practices and procedures.
• Understanding of NIST IT security controls as it relates to network security issues.
• Experience writing documentation and presenting information to groups.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain network equipment to provide secure and reliable network services.
• Provide comprehensive planning and implementation of college-wide network services.
• Monitor network security and performance using SIEM tools and adjust design as needed.
• Establish and maintain documentation for network systems and configurations.
• Perform other duties to ensure smooth department operations.
